WeCareDXB in association with Enviroserve & GEMS Modern Academy was happy to host the first Annual Sustainability Edu-Fest. The unique Edu-Fest brought together over 360+ students from across 46 UAE schools on a common platform to share and express their thoughts and ideas on various issues of Sustainability through 5 specially curated competitions.

Top 3 Finalists in each competition were invited for the Edu-Fest Symposium and Awards ceremony held on

May 22nd 2022. The  ceremony was held at  GEMS Modern Academy and had Sustainability experts from the Industry and Public Sector who shared  insights on the role the young generation can play.

 

The keynote address was given by Mr. Lincoln Bleavan, Executive Director, Sustainability & Energy Management, Stanford University, USA. Other speakers at the symposium included:

  • Mr. Dustin Cherniakski (Director, Enviroserve)

  • Ms. Dana Dadouck (Sustainability & CSR Specialist, Chalhoub Group)

  • Mr. Kiran Tewari (Director of Customer Services, Samsung Gulf)

  • Mrs. Nargish Khambatta (Vice President Education, GEMS Education)


Winners received exciting prizes from our Partners Samsung and Chalhoub Group. All qualified participants also received Green Certificates to recognize their contribution and efforts.

COMPETITIONS

Competition 1: 

E-Waste Recycling

Participants helped raise awareness and facilitated collection and recycling of electronic waste from homes and offices through this contest. 

Competition 2: 

Sustainability Art Contest
